One Year, Wandering
Few people know the whole story of how it came to be. Fewer people would probably want to sit and hear all of the details. So, here are the highlights: one year ago today, I shared the news.
I was offered a contract to become a published author.
I’ll never forget the day that I actually received the email “We want to offer you a publishing contract.” It said. And a ton of other words, but those where the words I read as we were waiting to get my best friend married. I was already emotional (hello! My best friend was getting married!) That I couldn’t help the tears roll down my cheeks. There couldn’t have been a more perfect time to receive this kind of joyous news.
Even today, every time I read this, hear it, or think it, I get chill bumps all over. It’s hard to believe that for the past year, I have been blessed to call this my reality.
I am a published author.
I wanted to take a moment to say Thank You.
Thank You to everyone who has bought a copy of my book. Thank You to everyone who has read my story. Thank You to everyone who has recommended my book to a friend. Thank You to everyone who has left a review and a rating. Thank You to everyone who helped make this dream become a reality.
My heart swells whenever I read the comments people have left on Amazon and GoodReads. My heart swells when I get a text from someone who has read Wandering 20’s. My heart is so full and so overjoyed that You helped make this become my new reality, being a published author.
Even now, as I type this, I get tears in my eyes, in awe that this dream that I have been dreaming for so many years has truly become a reality. How did I get so lucky? I often ask myself. How did someone decide they wanted to read my story? Do they know me or do they want to? Do they relate to my story?
Some of these questions I may never get an answer, but some I have been blessed to hear from sweet friends who have read my story. If you’ve read Wandering 20’s I would love, love, love to hear your thoughts and what it means to you.
January will mark one year of being published. September marks one year of making the announcement of my publishing contract.
From today until Thanksgiving marks me selling Wandering 20’s for $20. This covers the retail cost of the book, shipping, and a sweet note from me to you! It’s my way of saying Thank You.
Comment on this blog, email me, comment on my FB post, message me on IG or FB! There are hundreds of ways to get in touch with me and let me know you want a copy. I would be honored to share my story with you.
