Ever since I was a young girl I wanted to write. I was fascinated by the way people lived their lives and I wanted to live through their stories, and perhaps my own. While the stories I dreamed of writing were mostly just for fun, the story that came to live most recently is one that I hold dear to my heart.
This dream of sharing a story, my own story, came to life in January of 2019 thanks to Trilogy Books. Check out these reviews!
“I love it! I absolutely loved this book! I could relate to so much, and it gave me hope to follow my dreams and just enjoy each moment! I really enjoyed all the stories and love shared in this book!!”
“Vulnerable. This book has amazing insight. I love her vulnerability and the truth that she speaks. She is a woman who truly lets you into her world and offers not only vulnerability, but wisdom for your 20’s. Beautiful!!!!”
“A Wonderful, Real-Talk book.
I absolutely loved this book! I think that anyone who is in their twenties could easily relate to all the realness that Gwen speaks. Sometimes I feel like I have no idea what I am doing and confused as to where I am at in life. After reading this book, I learned that everyone is on their own journey and we have to go along for the ride even when it doesn’t look like everyone else’s lives. We need to love the journey that we are on because it will take us to exactly where we are meant to be. I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially those in their twenties.”
“Inspiring and uplifting! I thoroughly enjoyed Gwen’s book! Although obviously written in her ‘wandering 20’s’ (and it’s been a few decades since I’ve been in that time of my life!) I could relate to her stories of faith and wonder about what life will hand us next. The stories about relationships and family and experiences and God-moments were inspiring to me and I’m so glad I found this author! She inspires me to be more intentional about my life and to be grateful for the moments we are given.”
“Authentic and Encouraging! Gwen gives such a wonderful perspective on what it is to be a young woman in her 20s. I love how authentic and genuine her writing is and her stories are relatable and refreshing! It’s so easy to feel uneasy, anxious, stressed, and honestly very clueless in this chapter of life, but Gwen gives such encouraging insight on how not only to cope but really thrive while in these years that are the “wandering 20’s”! If you’re looking for another encouraging and wonderful book to read- pick this one!”
“A book for everyone! Although I was in my 20’s some time ago, I really enjoyed reading this book. Many of Gwen’s thoughts can apply to anyone really. We all struggle at different times in our lives no matter our age. We all have a journey to take. Her book also gave me insight to some of what my 19 year old son may be feeling at times as he tries to decide what he’d like to do with his life beyond high school. I recommend this book for anyone, it’s thoughtful, spiritual and enjoyable to read.”
“I will fully admit to being biased since I know Gwen, but I truly loved her book. If you don’t know Gwen, you’re missing out, but this book helps you get to know her. She’s honest, vulnerable, funny, and encouraging throughout the pages. She talks about her adventures which have led to both triumphs and disappointments. Heartfelt and encouraging, this book is a wonderful read.”
“Gwen’s narrative and approach to speaking to her audience is inclusive and vulnerable. There is no distance between the reader and the author - she speaks to you with the simplicity of life’s truths, challenges, fears, ambitions, and purpose. I laughed, I cried, I related. For a memoir such as this to be captured and explored by such a young and sensitive woman already enthralled with worldwide humanitarian and spiritual endeavors was such a wonderful and unsullied perspective to have a chance to encounter. I recommend to all the 20-somethings out there as well as seasoned readers. ”
“If you want to cozy up with a cup of coffee and get to know someone’s life & hear their wisdom, this is the book for you! Wandering 20s is laced with authenticity on each page. Gwen’s passions are clearly defined in each chapter — traveling, Jesus, coffee, loved ones, and simply sharing her journey. It’s comforting to know that you don’t need to live the perfect life, you simply need to make the most of every situation. The world that Gwen sees in her mind is truly beautiful & my wish is that others can see things as purely as she does. Can’t wait for Wandering 30s ;)”
“A wonderful, deeply personal memoir about the author’s emotional and spiritual changes as she explores the world during her 20s. Gwen’s writing style draws you in and makes it impossible not to empathize with her struggles and joys. I think that everyone can find a bit of themselves in this book. It ignited a desire in me to write my own memoir about my experiences living in Japan. I definitely recommend picking it up, especially if you’re feeling lost or insecure in your own life!”

“Full disclosure, I went to college with Gwen and adore her, so my review is probably a little biased because I think she’s an incredible human being. However, I highly recommend every twenty-something to pick up her book. She so beautifully and vulnerably shares about navigating the of your twenties. While I have gotten to know Gwen through the years, this book is so incredibly intimate that I walked away from this reading experience knowing her more. While reading her story, I found my own story among the pages. It was so reassuring knowing that my thoughts, doubts, and insecurities about being a twenty-something are something universal that can be shared amongst millennials. I cannot recommend this book enough for my fellow twenty-something millennials! ”
Have you ever gotten that restlessness in your soul, in your spirit? You
know the one that almost spreads like wildfire from your thoughts,
into your heart making it pulse faster to the tips of your toes? The one that
whispers, "You were made for more." I have and I answered it about five
years ago.
Let me tell you, that nectar is both as sweet and sticky as honey.
I learned how to love, the heartbreaking kind for others and places. I've felt
my heart grow when people came into my life. I've learned what it's like to
be brutally honest and have others speak truth into your life. I've felt what
it's like to fail and I've learned from my failures too. I've learned that our
dreams are precious patches in our souls and that they need to celebrated.
